Alstom SA, French power equipment manufacturer of high-speed trains, unveiled a new, very long last-stage blade for use in nuclear steam turbines.
Model LP75 represents an upgrade from the existing two sizes: LP57 and LP69.
In light of China’s renewed commitment to nuclear energy, Alstom is positioning itself to serve “all kinds of needs for nuclear steam turbines operated in China from the warmest south to the coldest north,” as stated by Philippe Anglaret, Alstom’s vice-president of nuclear business development.
