According to a report by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), manufacturing in the U.S. grew more slowly in May 2012 because of decreases in both prices and orders.
Prices decreased for the first time since last December, and order backlogs decreased since April.
However, the managers surveyed in the ISM report remain generally optimistic.
