Planned Design for National Manufacturing Innovation Network

The National Network for Manufacturing Innovation is a newly proposed council designed to help bring together industry and research with the goal of boosting the competitiveness of US manufacturing. Made up of universities, manufacturing firms and unions, the council will be mostly headed by industry representatives. It will provide federally matching funds for research and development of new industry for seven year intervals.
