Plastics Has an Image Problem

People’s opinions of plastics isn’t always favorable. However, many people base their opinions on out-dated knowledge about the plastics industry. The Lowell campus of UMASS is striving to change all that. The new facility, named in honor of Mark and Elisia Saab, offers the public ways to truly understand how plastics make our lives healthier and better. The $80 million dollar center will study the way plastics can help in such diverse fields as national security, nanotechnology and life sciences.
