A new program called Right Skills Now seeks to create the skilled workers the manufacturing sector currently needs.
As baby boomers retire and more teenagers are attending college after high school than ever before, there are fewer people to fill positions in factories. Last year, 600,000 jobs went unfilled because there were not enough skilled workers to apply.
Right Skills Now seeks to fix this problem by supplying training now, instead of waiting for schools to do it in 2 to 4 years.
