The New Knee Implant: Laser-sintering plus 5-axis milling

Not ever before has the world seen sintering of such precision.

A new manufacturing process for knee implants was revealed at the 2012 IMTS exhibition in Chicago. The combination of laser-sintering and 5-axis milling are used to create titanium surgical implants of significant complexity.

The industrial expertise of GF AgieCharmilles and EOS is fully shown in the variable-density geometry of these machined tibial trays.
