Titanium-Aluminum Alloy Cuts Aircraft Weight

Research from the European Space Agency has resulted in a titanium-aluminum alloy that has properties similar to nickel superalloys but weighs half as much. This development is very exciting for manufacturers and for the business that pay to fly these aircraft. This is because it will take less fuel to fly these aircraft since the planes are lighter. Less fuel equals lower costs.
